Why you should not pop your pimples?
I know the urge is so hard but it is best if you don't do it

Welcome Back! I want to keep this short and simple today. I know it is incredibly satisfying to pop pimples and see the explosion that comes with popping a big whitehead or blackhead. (Thanks Dr. Pimplepopper) There are actually just a few reasons why popping pimples can be bad for you in the long run despite how great and satisfying it can be in the short term.
When you pop pimples, you can cause:
Acne Scarring- scarring can come in many different forms but in general this is what it can look like. In short, larger cystic acne or constantly popping pimples can lead do a degradation of collagen in the healing process leading to depressed looked scars as seen here. To avoid this, use some of the products I mention in this post What Cleanser to use?
Spread bacteria to other pores - Bacteria that is associated with acne can actually be spread to other pores and cause further breakouts. I dive deep into this problem in my acne series so check out Tackling Acne Part I to learn more!
Traumatize the skin and decrease healing time - Like anything with your skin, your body needs time for things to heal including cuts on the arms or pimples on the face. Either way, popping pimples can lead to further trauma to the surround skin and can slow down healing of the current spot.
I know it is tempting to pop every pimple that pops up and it is extremely satisfying but for the sake of worsening further breakouts and causing acne scarring I urge you to try and resist. You will have more success with your acne journey and overall long term benefits by avoiding the things mentioned above.
