Welcome everyone! My goal here is to provide you with tips and tricks to fine tune your skin to look as perfect as it can be.
I know you are probably thinking that if skincare was so easy then why doesn’t everyone do it?
Well you are right! A lot of people do not take care of their skin and it is not because they can’t. It is because they don’t know how.
Let me help!
There are three main components to a proper skincare routine:
Recognize and Understand the problem
Create a plan to fix the problem
STICK WITH THE PLAN
That sounds so easy, right? Lets dive deeper.
1. Recognizing and Understanding the Problem
Usually this is the hardest thing to figure out. There is a huge difference between recognizing you have pimples and understanding what is actually going on. Same goes for dry and itchy skin, dandruff of the scalp, and just about any other issue with the skin.
The key is to use the many tools and resources we all have at our fingertips…yes I mean the internet. There is nothing wrong with finding good sources on the internet to help you understand these complex problems in better detail. The key is in being able to figure out what works and what doesn’t. Trial and error occurs a lot in the dermatological world because EVERYONE’S skin is different. Once you figure out what you’re dealing with then you can formulate a plan.
2. Creating a Plan to Fix the Problem
Now, here comes the hard part and one of my favorite acronyms to date. K.I.S.S as in keep it simple, stupid. The best way to tackle these big problems is simplicity.
There are thousands of products that are aimed at fixing different skin problems. The problem is that it is easy to get lost in the weeds.
A lot of companies use marketing to drag you into the weeds. They use fancy names and bottle colors to essentially accomplish something that does the same thing at 1/3 of the price.
Keeping it simple is the best way to formulate your plan to conquer the problem at hand.
When I say keep it simple, I mean you really do not need more than 2-3 products in your daily skin care routine to accomplish your goals. (Remember, everyone is different and every problem is different). Now that you have the plan, you just have to go for it!
3. STICK WITH THE PLAN
I save this for last because it is by far the most important step. One of the biggest problems that a lot of people have with their skin boils down to one thing:
CONSISTENCY
Consistently performing your skin care routine whether it be for a specific problem or just daily routine has to be your number one priority.
My biggest piece of advice: give time for the products to work. Usually 6-8 weeks is a reasonable time to truly notice a big difference in your skin. It seems like a long time but I promise it is worth the wait!
If you are using the right ingredients for different problems, they will work. You must give them time to shine.
Now, it is your turn. Take back control of your skin and make it look as perfect as it can be.
