Welcome! I am going to switch it up a bit and go through some brands that I recommend over the next month or two. Now these are not the only things you should use but as your trusty skincare provider, I think these are some of the best. As you can imagine, the list of brands is exhaustive. You walk into CVS and there are hundreds of brands staring at you but which one do you choose? Well, today I will make this decision one step easier by reviewing Cerave.
Personally, I think Cerave is one of the best places you can start when it comes to a long list of skin problems but the main two being acne and moisturizing. These two things will be a focus of today as I go through what products Cerave offers and why I think they are a great place to start! I will talk further about my specific favorite products from Cerave below.
The few things I like about Cerave:
Variety: Cerave is not alone in the variety that they have but I think combined with the other factors this helps a lot. Cerave has products for acne in terms of facial washes with different ingredients, great moisturizers, mineral based sunscreens, and products for children. Usually I operate under the assessment that once you find products that you like then stick with them. Knowing that a brand like Cerave has consistently good products makes these decisions a lot easier.
Price: Price is always going to be a factor for anyone. A big thing I talk about with skincare products is that usually these are products that you will buy in repetition over many years so finding a good price point for yourself is key. It allows the user to stay consistent in their skincare routine as well as stay disciplined in their compliance. Luckily, Cerave’s products are all generally on the lower end of the price scale and this helps tremendously.
Usability: What I mean by usability is that Cerave does a great job of stripping down skincare products to the basics. They have easily taken a step in the right direction for skincare because most of the time your skincare routine shouldn’t consist of 10 different things. I think Cerave has made this easier for the consumer by using the basics and not needing a long list of products to accomplish the same goal. There ingredient lists are simple and easy to read and understand. Either way, I think simplicity and affordability are factors that have to be focused on. High costs does not always equate to high value.
Now, the things I mentioned above do not necessarily set Cerave apart as there are several brands that do this. I just think Cerave does it the best. Affordable price, basic ingredients, and a large variety of products.
Some examples of my favorite Cerave products:
I have used all of these cleansers at some point in my life and I would recommend them all. I have sensitive skin so it has always been important for me to not used too harsh of ingredients to cleanse my face. All of these have helped me in my journey of having clear skin.
These two moisturizers are a daily use as well. Creams are typically better moisturizing the body and lotions are better for the face. After using these for years, I can gladly say that they keep my sensitive skin feeling moisturized and healthy. I have never had any issues with them and luckily they are extremely cost affordable.
I could probably go on and on about their 50+ products but the bottom line is that I think personally this is a great place to start for skincare products whether it be for acne, moisturizing, or sunscreens.
In my opinion, they check all of the boxes for what you want to look for on your journey. I will be doing more of these reviews so if you have any suggestions or would like me to dive into some other well known brands then please dm me on twitter at @med_conscience.
